Notes

Description
""J.J. moves into her post-babe period and possibly her post-Mike period, paying personal homage to the Bridges of Madison County by running off with reconstituted hunkster Zeke Brenner. Shortly thereafter, a car crash inspires her latest piece of performance art: Woman Pretending to be in a coma. Mike is not amused, so heads west to a new life in marketing at Bernie's Byte Shack, a Seattle software start up run by his old college lab partner. Mike's newly caffeinated lifestyle leads inexorably from flannel geekware to all night coding runs to way cool sleepovers with Kim, a 20-something propeller head undaunted by the generational chasm. Elsewhere on the continent, self-ordained Father Duke is also getting wired. As head of Orphans-R-Us, his 35 charges include his own illegitimate son Earl, whose childhood memories will not only include duct tape (a nanny's best friend), but quality time spent with Dad at the track, getting tattoos, and card counting at the Golden Pigeon. Likewise plugged in are Boopsie (founding mother of Café Cameo), Private Investigator O.J. Simpson (could you try on this glove, please ma'am), even Alice and Elmont, who still don't have a home but at least have an address: lunatic@street level. Can anyone keep up in a world where webheads rule and PCs are freshness dated? Probably not, but Virtual Doonesbury gives you a fighting chance." -- Page 4 of cover
